The Institute for European Security Studies (IESS), founded in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2024, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the modern era's complex hybrid threats and geopolitical challenges.
Our primary mission is to combat the spread of propaganda and disinformation in Central and Eastern Europe by providing thorough analysis and offering expert perspectives. In an age where the information sphere has become yet another means of warfare for dictators worldwide, which is already threatening democratic societies, we focus on empowering civil societies, policymakers, and non-governmental organizations with the tools and knowledge needed to counter these dangers. Through our research and advocacy, we aim to bolster resilience and foster informed dialogue across the region.
The IESS as an organization strives to build sustainable non-governmental connections among experts in Ukraine, Slovakia, and neighboring countries. By leveraging these partnerships, we aim to promote Ukraine’s European integration, drawing from the successful experiences of countries that joined the European Union in 2004. Additionally, we collaborate closely with NATO member states in the field of information and security to strengthen Ukraine's position within the Euro-Atlantic community. Our work is driven by a commitment to democratic values, regional cooperation, and the pursuit of a secure and prosperous future for Europe with Ukraine at its heart. Through our initiatives, we aim to create lasting international networks, deepen regional integration, counter Russian aggression and hybrid threats, and serve as a trusted voice in the fight against disinformation.
